Biography

My name is Sophia Crutchley. I am a recent graduate from Johnson & Wales University, where I majored in Fashion Retailing & Merchandising and minored in Cognitive Psychology. I am currently seeking a role in marketing, whether it be in the fashion industry or the healthcare industry.

I have always known that I wanted to work in the fashion industry and was very inspired by my travels throughout Europe and my studies at University. As Blair Waldorf once said "Fashion is the most powerful art there is. It is movement, design, and architecture all in one. It shows the world who we are and who we want to be." It is my love for fashion and business that is driving me to pursue a career in the fashion industry.

Aside from fashion, I am passionate about the healthcare industry. After working with the elderly with memory disorders for over half a decade, I decided to pursue a minor in cognitive psychology. It is my work experience and learnings that have lead me to become a more compassionate person - an attribute that I know will serve me well as I enter the workforce and join a team. I look forward to connecting with hiring managers and anyone who may have connections in these fields.

June 2023-August 2023

During a summer study abroad in Florence, Italy, I immersed myself in the Italian fashion industry, exploring ateliers, workshops, and fashion houses. This experience deepened my understanding of sustainable practices, production techniques, and global marketing, while cultural excursions and expert-led workshops highlighted Florence’s artistic heritage.
